How to run it

Use a keyboard. F and J sit under the index fingers on a normal desktop layout. On a phone the on-screen keyboard is a poor substitute, so this family is desktop-first. Wait until the letter is actually on screen. A press in the gap between trials does not count, and a press after the window is a miss.

The score is the share of go-trials you hit, minus a penalty for pressing on X. A perfect run with a slow median is still a clean run. Chasing a lower millisecond count by guessing early will add misses.

Questions people ask

What is being measured?

Whether you hit the right key inside the window, and how long that took. On the no-go variant, a press when the screen shows X is a false alarm and it costs score. Speed without accuracy is a miss.

Why does the rule change?

Controller selection cares about updating a rule, not only about a reflex. The paid switch drill flips the mapping every few trials and tells you on screen. The free drill keeps the simple rule: press the letter you see.

Do you store my reaction times on a server?

No. The session score stays in this browser. The median time is shown at the end of the run and is not uploaded.
